Who is the Joint Commission?
The Joint Commission are experts that provide unbiased evidence of the quality of care, treatment, or services provided to individuals served. Joint Commission standards are developed with input from health care professionals, providers, subject matter experts, consumers, and government agencies. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus and reviewed by the Board of Commissioners. Surveys are conducted by experienced and licensed behavioral healthcare professionals; this includes psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, behavioral healthcare nurses and administrators. Many Joint Commission surveyors are actively working in a range of behavioral healthcare settings.
What does it mean to be accredited by the Joint Commission?
Being accredited by the Joint Commission means that your loved one will be receiving the highest quality of care. Qualifying for survey and being accredited is only one of many steps. The Joint Commission is not solely looking for maintenance but quality assurance and quality improvement as well. As a treatment program, we are continually monitoring quality improvement indicators and looking for ways to advance in client care. This includes, but is not limited to medication audits, staff training and productivity, infection control, medical record audits, patient safety, and risk management. In addition, audits are submitted to ARS Compliance Officer each quarter that then assures improvement and excellence in client care. Our mission every day is to provide top quality care and safety for every individual.
